Nike Classic Cortez Premium – Year of the Tiger

In the Chinese lunar calendar, 2010 has been recognized to be the Year of the Tiger and in this current year, people around the world, not only Chinese are now excited to celebrate the occasion. In view of this, it has been a custom for sneaker giant, Nike to observe the said festivity by creating an exclusive piece from its lineup. For the Year of the Tiger, a pair of Classic Cortez Premium was chosen to give honor to the Chinese New Year.
This year’s featured Cortez took inspiration from the tiger’s appearance with the Yellow stripes based on a White leather upper. As for the Swoosh, toe cap, lace section, and heel, Tan pony hair was used. The inside has a White finished liner and Black shoe laces give a perfect contrast.
While Red means “luck” for the Chinese, this Cortez also implemented a Red touch-up on the collar and tongue border as well as on the embroidered Nike branding on the heel. Finally, a traditional White/Black sole finishes the pack.
Limited pairs of the Nike Classic Cortez Premium – Year of the Tiger will be releasing at Invincible West and selected Nike retailers.
