After first hitting shelves in 1972, the classic Nike Blazer celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2012. As part of the celebrations, Nike take the top off this trio of releases, dropping the old veteran silhouette in the less common low-top model. Available in the most basic of two-tone palettes, the Blazer lows will be available in red, black or grey suede with white highlights and an oxidized sole for a vintage feel. Nike has applied one of their most advanced sole cushioning technology in their latest edition of the Nike SB Blazers Mid. Although not carrying any SB branding anywhere on the shoes, the outsoles of the shoes definitely screams skateboard shoes, only with a big revision that makes it an even better fit for skateboarding. The sole is cushioned with ‘Lunarlon’, a cushioning technology developed by the Nike research team by studying how the astronauts walked or rather ‘bounded’ around the moon as if they were doing it on marshmallows. This technology is 30% lighter than their standard Phylon foams and is enclosed with Phylite or Phylon to give it more stability. This revision to the sole design gives it more dissipation in impact, thus lessening the chances of injury due to impact while doing tricks on your skateboards.

In a semi-monochromatic color scheme, this trio pack is graced with tide pool blue, cool grey, and hazelnut tones. For the pool tide colorway, grey suede is used on the side of the toe area and on the lace panels, white leather makes up the Swoosh, and navy blue leather constructs the heel.
The same arrangement is used on the hazelnut except that the suede comes tonal. All three colorways carry out white textured rubber soles and white shoe laces.
