Neighborhood are no stranger to Shelltoes, having swept the field with their standout black leather burner from the Superpstar 35th Anniversary series of a few years back. Now they go back to the well as part of their slightly more preppy, Brit-themed Luker range. Teaming up with their old sparring partner Kazuki Kuraishi, this premium release features smooth leather stripes on the full-grain upper, the Luker shield on the tongue and heel plus the familiar KZK striped ribbon running down the rear chimney. First we went bananas over adidas’ new Fortitude Mid, but once we saw this Round House with its mid-foot strap, mid-cut steez and banging colour ups, we knew the three stripes could do no wrong! With perfect placement of panels, use of materials and positioning of palette structure, these babies are a piece of art for the feet. We saw the Hardland debut earlier this year in the lead-up to the World Cup, with Japan’s Mastermind releasing a black leather biker-inspired model to honor the grit and resilience of the trailblazing ‘Samurai Blues’.
