Another Boston Celtics-inspired Adidas comes up in the form of Superstar 80s. This basketball shoe was first released in 1970 in a low cut style which received great demand from a huge number of NBA players.
In early 1980s, the Adidas Superstar 80s has been worn by the members of a hip hop band called Run DMC and later on, they dedicated their favorite shoe with the song “My Adidas”. The band got a special deal commercial with Adidas and since then, the Superstar 80s has been in the height of fame as it became the sneakerhaeds’ favorite.
Although not intended for the Celtics, this latest Superstar 80s release uses a White leather base with White rubber toe cap. The Boston Green appears as 3 Stripes logo on the outer side pane and a heel overlay. On the tongue comes out a Black/Golden Yellow Adidas Leaf logo. It seems like everything goes clean with the inner liner, shoe laces, and rubber sole.

adidas Superstar East & West All-Star Game 2010

We’ve already previewed some of what the adidas brand has prepared in anticipation of this year’s NBA All-Star weekend. We expect certain adidas NBA players to be wearing either the TS Supernatural or Commander, depending on which team they’ll be on that weekend. The adidas Concord mid has also been worked in both an East and a West colorway. Now the adidas Superstar joins the party. Pictured here is a Western Conference adidas Superstar in a predominantly red upper with white adidas stripes, a white heel tab, and a white sole. The Eastern Conference pair simply replaces the red with blue, while both pairs seem to sport a “neutral” red, blue, and white set of shoe laces. Pochoir x Adidas Superstar 80 – Five Two-3 City Artist Series

We first previewed the Pochoir x Adidas Superstar 80 in the first look at Adidas’s Five Two-3 City Artist Collection. Now, the Pochoir x Adidas Superstar 80 makes a retail release. The Superstar 80 was designed by London’s very own street artist, Pochoir. The upper consists of grey 3m and leather, contrasted by blue accents at the heel, tongue, lacetips, and lace plate. Pochoir makes his name known at the heel logo, while making it stylish. These Superstars are available now for 5 at retailers such as Wish ATL.

adidas Superstar “Reflective Stripes”

Perhaps the most famous of all adidas silhouettes, the Superstar is known amongst many sneaker fans as the Shell Toe’s for the material and design on the shoe’s toe box. Yesterday, we gave you a look at a pair of Superstar II’s sure to get anybody in the holiday spirit. The pair we’re discussing here today is sure to receive accolades not for the color scheme, but for the materials used on it. This Superstar is done up in 3M reflective stripes going along the entire upper, except for on the patented adidas stripes and toe box.
